Sound desk

Hi Guys n Gals

You guys are doing a phenomenal job of leading God’s people to worship Him, thank you for your faithfulness! Please continue to respect and care for each other off stage as much as you do on stage. Make every effort to ensure every interaction with each other is seasoned with love and gentleness.

After yesterday, I see we’re going to have to control Eben’s mike also, which was something I thought someone else was going to do.

Attached is an image of the desk; Highlighted Legend below;

1.       Individual GAIN, this is the mic sensitivity and normally the one to lower if there’s feedback noise

2.       Individual AUX/Monitor GAIN. This is where we make individual channels louder ONLY on the stage MONITORS

3.       GLOBAL AUX /MONITOR volume. This is where we increase everyone (the total sound) on the MONITORS on stage, this must be done in conjunction with the volume on the monitor amp at the back of the stage

4.       MUTE. This is where we silence all the individual channels when we move over to Eben’s chordless mic (we need to know/decide in advance which MIC we will unmute if there are testimonies etc.

Nb; the 2 rows of controls beneath the row of AUX (no 2 above) are the effects which were left on the night before, those are the ones to turn all the way to the left if there’s funny effects and noises (like the ones that plagued us yesterday).

I’ll print this out for each person and also put a copy up at the desk (I know that some people’s work email blocks the attached image, so you can still go see it at http://oasishelderberg.blogspot.com/ ) as well as a copy of the “new” roster that indicates who is on sound.

As promised, I’ve only focussed on the parts that affect us on stage the most.

If anyone would like to join us for an unofficial prayer meeting for the conference worship this Thursday, we’ll meet at 6:30 pm, this is not compulsory – but a free will offering.

Be blessed
