SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns -- August 27,
2009:
The enemy is fighting for control and will not give up
easily, yet he is already defeated. Refuse to allow
discouragement to come when you have a minor setback
because this is his last ditch effort to keep you in
bondage just before you break forth into unbridled liberty,
says the Lord. You are above and not beneath; he is beneath
and not above you. Be strong and courageously keep pressing
through. Victory is assured.
Deuteronomy 28:13 And the LORD will make you the head and
not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath,
if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I
command you today, and are careful to observe them

"Worship", quick study 1 - WORSHIP IS ALSO OUTWARDLY VISIBLE/EXPRESSIVE

Well, here's my first note on this (I hope you will all still share your own studies with us).
I will be sharing this tonight;
---------------------------------
First time some one is said to "worship";
Genesis 22:5 And Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you."

Classic posture regarding worship; it's clear from the fact that he repeatedly bows down that, this was considered the way to express adoration;
Genesis 24: 26 Then the man bowed down his head and worshiped the LORD.
48 "And I bowed my head and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master
52 And it came to pass, when Abraham's servant heard their words, that he worshiped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.

The next time we see people worship it is Abraham's descendants in Egypt (after a 400 year divine "silence), still reflecting their customary posture associated with indicating complete surrender;
Exodus 4:31 So the people believed; and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel and that He had looked on their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

We see that even the most extreme encounter thus far where Moses see God's glory
The same posture is evident;
Exodus 34:8 So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.

I was excited to see this because it means the most fundamental or basic outward sign of the "inner" worship is the classic prostrating oneself by bowing down; which means that there is an overlap in our simplistic definition that Praise is visible and worship not unnecessarily; in these examples we see a very expressive outward sign visible of the persons worship. So, worship can still be very outwardly expressive - is all I'm saying (and "Praise" already existed, having begun with Judah)
WORSHIP IS ALSO OUTWARDLY VISIBLE/EXPRESSIVE.

Last line of "Everlasting God"

This line was left out of "Everlasting God"; it goes at the very end

1Ch 9:26 For the four chief door-keepers, who were Levites, had a special position, looking after the rooms and the store-houses of the house of God.

(BBE) And these were those who had the ordering of the music and songs, heads of families of the Levites, who were living in the rooms, and were free from other work, for their work went on day and night.

(KJVR) And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night.

(AOV) En nadat hulle die lofsang gesing het, het hulle uitgegaan na die Olyfberg.

(BBE) And after a song of praise to God, they went out to the Mountain of Olives.

(KJVR) And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

Discerning the Times, Part 44

Week 34, 2009

As I have said before, an eagle needs both a right
wing and a left wing to fly. I am personally a
conservative, but I am just as concerned about right wing
extremists as I am left wing extremists. Someone said in a
recent summit of Christian leaders we hosted that as
Christians our allegiance is not to the party of the donkey
or the elephant, but to the Lamb. My first allegiance is to
the holy nation, the kingdom of God, far more so than any
other allegiance. However, I do have some allegiance to my
country, the party I belong to, and other associations I
have.

I also only have other associations that I believe
embrace biblical standards of righteousness and justice,
which is why I was once a member of the Democratic Party,
but felt I had to leave as the basic platform of the party
started to conflict with basic biblical standards of
morality. I also felt that the Democratic Party actually
crossed the line to make one of the most basic affronts to
God as stated in Scripture, which is to "call evil good,
and good evil" (see Isaiah 5:20). Even so, I would leave
the Republican Party just as fast if it started to do that
for the sake of political expediency.

As a member of the Republican Party, I also confess to
being disappointed by the party of Lincoln that failed to
lead the cause of civil rights and for the party of Teddy
Roosevelt that fell far behind in taking up the legitimate
need to protect the environment. I have been just as
grieved by the leaders of the party, even Presidents who
said one thing but did another when they got in office.
Even so, when the basic platform is something that I can
conscientiously agree to, I will stay and work to see the
message and actions agree.

I also agree that it is a biblical mandate in the
teachings of Scripture on righteousness for us to be good
stewards. I believe that waste is sin, and presently our
government is the worst sinner in this, probably on the
planet. With sound management principles, our government
could be accomplishing several times what it is doing now
while being a fraction of its size. I believe it would be
an easy thing to balance the federal budget and have the
federal government doing much more for people, not less,
with some good basic management principles.

If the trillions of dollars that are now being
consumed by the federal deficit in the issuing of bonds
were directed to business, we would quickly become an
economic powerhouse like never before and have enough to
begin pulling the whole world out of the prison of chronic
poverty. There are other factors keeping so much of the
world in poverty, such as unstable governments and corrupt
leaders, but this is a management problem also. Our
government feeds and keeps many of these evil regimes in
power by having such short-term foreign policy strategies.
It was actually America that provided much of the financing
for the development of the Taliban and Al Qaeda, which have
used many of the weapons we gave them against our own
soldiers.

The federal government is the worst environmental
violator. Just cutting out unnecessary paperwork would
certainly save tens of millions of trees a year. Why hasn't
the environmental movement ever addressed the waste and
excesses of government? Certainly there have been corporate
violators, and these need to be judged when they destroy
that which belongs to us all—the earth. The Lord even said
that He would destroy those who destroy the earth (see
Revelation 11:18). Christians should be on the forefront of
the cause of the environment, but it must be done with
integrity and truth. I agree that if we are truly pro-life,
we should be for all life, including every species that man
was given the mandate to rule over, but I also agree that
environmentalists who are not pro-life for humans are very
basic hypocrites.

As a prophetic voice, the church should always be at
the front of the important causes and issues of the times.
If the church does not take its responsibility to do this,
then these issues and causes will be championed by those
who will often hijack them for less than righteous purposes
and can even use them for evil. This, too, is a matter of
stewardship—burying our talents by not using them to be the
salt and light that we are called to be.

Many are becoming increasingly shocked by how a
government so extremely leftist got into power in the U.S.,
which is and continues to be a "right of center"
population. As stated, it is not uncommon for even tiny
minorities to seize political power in a crisis, as we see
with both Germany and Russia in the twentieth century. This
happens when the majority becomes silent or passive. In
history, whenever such a shift has happened the
consequences have been devastating. This, too, is the
result of those burying the light. We are warned in
Scripture that such will incur a worse judgment.

If the church in America awakens and takes its
responsibility to be the salt and light that she is called
to be, a recovery of all of our lost freedoms and economic
strength can be achieved. If we continue to sleep, America
will continue to fall from its heights of strength and
greatness, likely at an increasing pace.

Either way the kingdom is going to come. Many think
that the kingdom will come faster if America collapses. I
can understand some of the merits of this argument, but it
will be much easier and better if America returned to its
godly foundations and became the force that it is called to
be—to help proclaim and prepare the way for the Lord.

Do we want such a great nation to be lost on our
watch? She is falling fast, and without bold, courageous
leadership by those who have the light, she will be lost.
It is up to those who have the light to stand with boldness
and courage for the light.

Events; His People & Kingsway college & group fast

Hi
Thanks for yesterday, you were all great!

Millah's private Christian school, here in Grabouw - Kingsway college;
has an event planned for the 11'th of September, please let me know if
anyone is willing to play with us, we'll simply do a 5 song (1 extra
praise) selection same as any Sunday morning. I thought it will be good
for us to get "out" to other Christian events as a ministry team (vs a
private performance as was the last case). We could also make it a sleep
over at the country club and spend the today with each other on
Saturday? Think about it, let me know this Thursday.

His people; let me know on Thursday who all is going with, so we can
arrange traveling together or at least arriving together.

Remember to consider how or what you will fast from.
Be specific and don't be afraid to make small steps, don't throw
yourself in the deep end with like a water only 40 day fast!
The goal is also specific, our team is on a spiritual mission to receive
divine revelation as to how to engage with this certain enemy! We will
succeed triumphantly and we will rule victoriously!
There will be a part 2 to this mission, it will be the interpretation of
the input we receive (since this is where most make their "mistakes"...).

Worship Christ on stage and in secret!!
enjoy your instrument!
Be blessed!

PS: Continue to pray for Suzi this flu has fully hit her and Shannon.
Millah is recovering well from it!

Rick Joyner on Enoch from Fransie

Day 126 - Walking With God

One of the shortest, but most remarkable stories in Scripture is found in Genesis 5:22-24:
* Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years *
* after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters.*
* So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.*
* And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.*
**
**
Concerning this we read in Hebrews 11:5:
* By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; *
* and he was not found because G**OD** took him up; *
* for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.*
**
In the last mention of Enoch in Scripture, but not the least important, we are told in Jude 14-16:
* And about these also Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, *
* prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord came **with many thousands *
* of His holy ones, **to execute judgment upon all, *
* and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds *
* which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things *
* which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him." *
* These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; *
* they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.*
**
Enoch's is one of the most enigmatic and important messages in Scripture. As we read in Jude, it is also one of the most important for the last days. The special fact about Enoch is that he walked with God. Adam was still alive when Enoch lived. It is probable that he talked with Adam about what it was like to walk with God in the Garden, and his heart was so stirred that he began to yearn for such a relationship with his Maker. One of the great, eternal truths is, if we seek God we will find Him. Enoch found Him. He recovered the most basic call of man that had been lost by the fall—the relationship we are called to have with God. Because of this he was delivered from the consequence of the Fall, which is death.
Walking with God remains the ultimate and highest quest of man. When this is truly recovered, we too will be delivered from the consequences of the Fall. Enoch walked with God so closely that the Lord took him directly to heaven. This was a foreshadowing of what has been popularly referred to as "the rapture." As Paul wrote in I Corinthians 15:51-52:
* Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, **but we shall all be changed,*
* in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, *
* at the last trumpet; **for the trumpet will sound, *
* and the dead will be raised imperishable, **and we shall be changed.*
**
Enoch was but the first fruits of the last day church that will also be caught up without tasting death. There have been many books written about how and why this takes place, and many have speculated about the timing of it, but the reason this happens is the same reason it happened to Enoch. The last day church will walk with God so closely that He will be obliged to bring them into the fullness of His presence, transforming them from the mortal to the eternal in the *"twinkling of an eye."*
I have often heard Christians say that they were trying to decrease so the Lord could increase in their life. This seems noble, but it is not biblical, and is actually the opposite of what John the Baptist said, *"He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30).* If we try to decrease before He increases in our lives, we will just be empty, and the void will usually be filled with an evil, religious spirit. *"Enoch walked with God, and he was not...."* When we walk with God, we will decrease because He is increasing in our lives.
The Lord did not come just to make our lives better and easier. He did not even come simply to change us—He came to kill us! Even though Enoch did not "taste death" in the natural, his old nature was consumed in God. When it says that *"he was not,"* it means much more than him just disappearing. By walking with God His glory changed him, consuming his fallen nature and replacing it with His nature. The same is our goal—to be dead to sin, dead to our former lusts, dead to this world, but alive unto God.
Even so, if we try to crucify ourselves, the result will be self-righteousness. Our old nature was crucified with Christ on the cross. The rendering of our old nature as dead, so we can experience the resurrection life in Christ, is a process that takes place as we walk with God. We identify with His crucifixion, and therefore His righteousness. We will never be so good that we do not need His life and His righteousness. We are only able to enter into the presence of God because of His blood—His atonement. He will forever be our righteousness. Therefore, it is our goal to be found in Him, to abide in Him so that He might dwell in us.
The more we walk with Him and see Him, the more we are changed by who He is. When we focus on crucifying ourselves we are still focusing on self. We will never be changed by seeing who we are, but by beholding who He is. As we behold Him, we embrace and identify with His cross and His resurrection.
Christ is everything. He is the message and purpose of the whole creation. When we lose ourselves in Him we do not lose, we gain everything to infinity. We are exchanging the worthless and the death for that which is beyond valuation, and a life that cannot be destroyed. We will never make a better transaction.
Your ultimate purpose for being on this earth can be summed up in one thing—you are called to walk with God. Your highest purpose for this day is to walk with Him. If you do, you will also make the greatest transaction that can be made on this earth, exchanging some of the death in you for the indestructible life in Him.
